SJU Habitat for Humanity Chapter is a student organization that partakes in the mission of Habitat for Humanity Int., demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ by focusing on shelter, advocating for affordable housing, promoting human dignity, supporting sustainable changes and leading transformational development around the world. As part of the St. John’s community, SJU Habitat for Humanity Chapter also demonstrates a clear understanding of the University’s core values and the mission as Catholic, Vincentian and Metropolitan.”

our goalsEducation: The Campus Chapter educates fellow students and the community about the need for decent, affordable housing, and how Habitat fits into the solution. Construction: Participation in the construction and renovation of houses gives students hands on opportunities to put their faith into action while building partnerships with Habitat affiliates. Fundraising: Campus chapters offer creative ways to raise funds for Habitat's work, both locally and internationally. |
our history1999 - SJU Habitat for Humanity is the oldest active campus chapter affiliated with Habitat for Humanity New York City to date in. 2015 - First University in New York City to host the Shack-A-Thon Event. Second University in the State of NY after Syracuse. Seventh University across the nation. |
